Hi CLOTHO Fam! I can’t fully wrap my head around this while typing it, but this week marked the one year anniversary of CLOTHO Style Consulting and The Style Guide here on Substack. I’ve worked with clients on wardrobe refreshes and styling for their important life events, and have written 53 editions that over 300 of you have read…which is so wild to me. I can’t thank you enough for being on this journey with me, sharing this content with friends, and leaving me comments on what you’ve enjoyed learning.
My goal when starting CLOTHO a year ago was always to come from a place of education and empowerment. I never wanted to make this community about me and what I’m wearing or trying to sell or influence anyone to buy the latest “it” item. (Though, I will say, I do think the Labubus are pretty cute.) Rather, I want to teach people how to find their own personal styles, and equip them with the information needed to express that unique story to the world.
It’s always been part of the vision to roll out digital courses that cover the building blocks of style. And, after a lot of researching to determine the best avenue for that, I’ve decided to keep this simple and put them right here on Substack.
Starting in August 2025, all paid subscribers to The Style Guide will automatically gain access to Fashion Foundations courses. Starting with four this year, and with plans to add more in 2026. These courses will be a blend of videos and workbooks that teach you the fundamentals of style, such as finding the right fit, playing with proportions, color harmony, understanding fabrics, and more!
This is a huge passion project for me, and this announcement comes exactly one week before my birthday for that reason. So, in order to make this empowering knowledge more accessible, I’m offering a discount on annual paid subscriptions, running from today through my birthday on the July 19th.
